In a recent episode of Kapamilya Chat, Anji took on a series of random questions that led her to share some truly uplifting and insightful thoughts.
To start off, she was asked from the "random" category what her most used emoji is, and she gamely revealed that it's the red heart.

From that cute query, the conversation turned deep when she got a 'would you rather' scenario, asking her to choose which between a reply button or a pause button she'd want to have in life. She went for pause, "Bakit pa natin ire-rewind kung hindi naman natin mache-change, so I would rather choose to pause for a minute and reflect."

That answer relates to her recent trip back home to Siargao, where she got the chance to slow down and just be present. "After Siargao, coming back here, I felt really refreshed. It's just full of positivity lang," she said. This reminds her of a book she read about choosing happiness and knowing when to stop and when to keep going.

From there, Anji was asked about the most unexpected realization she has had in life, and that would have to be learning that sometimes, it’s the little things that matter the most. She was reminded of the simple joys of hand-washing clothes and cooking with her siblings during her Siargao break. One time, while she was doing laundry, her father casually asked how life had been lately, to which she replied that she's still coping even though "mahirap ang buhay." But to her surprise, her dad asked, "Paano mo nasabing mahirap?" That question hit her hard and made her see that maybe life isn't that bad after all. She's still living and she's strong, so she thought she must start looking at how blessed she really is. "I know that ang buhay talaga won't be nice sa'yo, pero ikaw kasi 'yung magdi-dictate kung paano mo ina-navigate 'yung buhay mo," she reflected. That Siargao vacation must have been life-changing for Anji!

The next question made her look back on that one thing she used to believe about her career but sees differently now. She said it's the mindset that she had to say yes to every opportunity because she was too scared to disappoint other people. "I wanted to please everyone, but it took the joy out of me, it took the passion out of me," she confessed. "I wasn't doing it for myself, eh, I was doing it to please everyone." Now, she’s learned to be more intentional with her decisions, "Saying yes is okay, but learn when and how will you say yes."

And then we got to see Anji's bashful smile when the magic cards served up a question about the best compliment she’s ever received. Anji noted that most Pinoys get shy when receiving compliments, but at the same time, it’s always nice to hear them. Her favorite compliment so far was when Yeng Constantino saw her at the "ASAP" studio and told her, "Anj, thank you for singing that song. Na-bless ako," after she uploaded her cover of a Christian song online. "'Yun ang pinaka-best compliment na na-receive ko sa buhay ko. Siguro dahil feeling ko na-anoint talaga ni Lord, na nagamit Niya ako as His vessel, as His instrument to inspire and to bless other lives."
