MANILA --  Filipino alternative rock band Sandwich has released a new extended play titled "Kaswal" under PolyEast Records.

The six-track mini album, which was officially unveiled on March 26 at Apotheka Manila in Makati, is out now on all digital streaming platforms.

The launch of "Kaswal" featured performances from the band along with SUYEN, Ozo, Gloryen, and The Diegos.  Additionally, PolyEast Records has renewed its contract with Sandwich.

Songs featured in the EP are "Nyare," "Ibang Araw Na Lang," "Morena," "Wag Ka Na Lang Kumagat," "Tag-ulan na naman," and "Tag-Araw."

According to the band's frontman Raimund Marasigan, "Kaswal" is a collection of songs they've released over the past few years since the pandemic hit.

He added that the tracks were a collaborative effort by the group's members.

"It's a group effort, we all like sharing ideas online and then get-together at least once a week to jam and flesh it out and record the demos," Marasigan said.

The band considers "Kaswal" as a "release" as Sandwich moves on to a bigger project--a full-length album.

"Don't sweat the small things," said Marasigan when asked of what the band hopes listeners will take away from the EP.

"Kaswal' marks the group's first EP since "No Goodbyes" in 2022.

Sandwich is behind songs like "Butterfly Carnival," "Two-Trick Pony," "Sugod," "DVDx," "Sunburn," "Procrastinator," "Betamax," and "Selos."
