It was a night of uncontainable excitement and heartfelt reunions as film veterans Charo Santos and Dingdong Dantes received an outpouring of love from fans and friends at the celebrity premiere night of “Only We Know” held at SM Megamall on June 10. 

Their warmly welcomed on-screen pairing drew thunderous cheers, as guests from both the Kapamilya and Kapuso worlds gathered to celebrate the film’s emotional depth and cinematic grace.

“Only We Know” tells the story of Betty, a former English teacher facing the silence of life after retirement, and Ryan, a recently widowed structural engineer attempting to make sense of a world that no longer feels whole. What begins as an unlikely friendship gradually reveals deeper emotional layers, blurring the lines between comfort and connection. 

The film marks Charo and Dingdong’s first cinematic team-up, and a second collaboration between Dingdong and director Irene Emma Villamor, known for her tender, soul-stirring narratives. 

Fans and industry peers flocked to the event in full force. Among the many familiar faces were Marian Rivera, Kathryn Bernardo, Coco Martin, Julia Montes, Dennis Trillo, Iza Calzado, Catriona Gray, Rhian Ramos, and Sanya Lopez — each one eager to show their support for the film and its powerhouse trio of Charo, Dingdong, and Direk Irene. 

Dingdong, Charo, and Direk Irene arrived at the red carpet together, exuding effortless elegance. Dingdong stood out in a velvet black coat, while Charo turned heads in a classic black-and-white floral dress. They were all smiles as they waved to the crowd, greeted supporters, and even posed for 360 photo booth shots. Marian Rivera, radiating pride for husband Dingdong and affection for Charo, also offered a bouquet to the iconic veteran actress in a warm moment that had everyone touched. 

Also in attendance were cast members who brought the world of Betty and Ryan to life: Shamaine Buencamino, Max Collins, Joel Saracho, Rafa Siguion-Reyna, Isabel Oli, and Gil Cuerva, all of whom joined in the celebration. 

Before the screening began, the entire cast took to the stage to thank the audience. Charo then announced the film’s global reach, sharing, “We are going to Toronto and L.A!” Special screenings and meet-and-greet will be held on June 20 and 21 in Toronto, and on June 22 in Los Angeles.

Direk Irene also addressed the crowd, saying how honored she was to witness the story’s journey from script to screen. 

In a quick interview inside the cinema before the screening, Dingdong shared his heartfelt and joyful thoughts of the film: “Seven years ago, nag-umpisa po ang journey ng pelikulang ito, and finally, bukas ipalalabas na po ang pelikula na ‘Only We Know’ na written and directed by Direk Irene!” 

As the credits rolled and the lights turned back on, the cinema erupted with applause. Some fans couldn’t help but shout in admiration of Betty and Ryan’s undeniable connection. Dingdong, Charo, and Irene were quick to share embraces with everyone, visibly moved by the crowd’s reaction. TJ Monterde’s “Sariling Mundo”, the film’s official theme song, played softly in the background, underscoring a moment that felt intimate and triumphant.
