No family is perfect, but the idea that your folks would love you no matter what, flaws and all, comes close! As we observe Holy Week, we invite you to reflect on the gift of family. That even at our lowest, it’s the priceless bond between family that lifts us up when we need it to.

Watch how different households in these three touching Star Cinema family dramas come out of their problems stronger than ever, together.

‘Tanging Yaman’

In this 2000 Laurice Guillen film, Danny (Johnny Delgado), Art (Edu Manzano), and Grace (Dina Bonnevie) settle both their inheritance and differences upon the news of their mother Loleng’s (Gloria Romero) Alzheimer's disease. Their grudges strain not only their bond as siblings, but also their relationships with their own families. In the midst of illness and financial woes, this film highlights how it's never too late to mend broken family ties.

‘Seven Sundays’

Aga Muhlach, Dingdong Dantes, Christine Reyes, and Enrique Gil portray the children of Ronaldo Valdez’s Manuel in this 2017 family drama. Vowing to make the most out of their time with their father amid his supposed cancer diagnosis, the Bonifacio siblings wade through their unsettled qualms and learn more about each other’s quiet struggles. While Manuel is enlivened by his children’s presence, he, too, confronts his lapses as a father.

‘Way Back Home’

An unfortunate incident separates Ana (Kathryn Bernardo) from her sister Jessica (Julia Montes) as well as their parents Amy (Agot Isidro) and Ariel (Tonton Gutierrez). Twelve years later, Ana crosses paths with her true family at a swim meet. Already bearing the weight of her mother’s resentment, Jessica’s envy worsens upon Ana’s return. Could these sisters move on from the pain of their past, or will it only drive a bigger wedge between them?
