Do you find that the dating scene just isn’t what it used to be? Feeling beaten down by heartbreak after heartbreak? Or simply manifesting for that cinematic love written by fate?

You’re not the only one! In these five Star Cinema films, determined hopeless romantics rely on everything, from chance encounters to elders’ wise intuition, as they search for their better half.

‘Dear Other Self’

Rebecca (Jodi Sta. Maria) lives out her biggest what-ifs, from pursuing a promotion in her well-paying advertising job, to resigning and fulfilling her dream of traveling the world. These two paths also make way for two potential love interests in Rebecca’s life: her officemate Chris (Joseph Marco) and her newfound travel buddy Henry (Xian Lim).

‘Hey Babe!’

In this classic teen romcom, Abigail (Jolina Magdangal) makes her weekly visit to fortune teller Madame Lola (Gina Pareño) to seek her guidance in finding her ideal man. Little does she know that, not only has her friend Nelson (Marvin Agustin) caught feelings for her, but he’s also conspired with Madame Lola to make him out to be Abigail’s perfect match!

‘Miss You Like Crazy’

The reserved Allan (John Lloyd Cruz) crosses paths with the quirky Mia (Bea Alonzo) after picking up her stones where she’s written personal sentiments. Just as a connection sparks between them, they come across an old man who predicts that their happy ending awaits them in five years. Committed to their own love lives and careers, could destiny triumph in bringing Allan and Mia together once and for all?

‘Got 2 Believe’

The concerned aunts of wedding coordinator Toni (Claudine Barretto) inform her that she’s doomed to suffer their fate of being single forever — that is, if she fails to tie the knot by age 25. With time ticking away, she’s set up on a romantic date by the wedding photographer (Lorenz) after doing him a favor. Lorenz ends up falling for Toni instead.

‘My Love Will Make You Disappear’

After being constantly let down by a curse that compels everyone she’s ever kissed and loved to disappear, the 30-something Sari (Kim Chiu) finally gives romance a chance. Sari opens her heart to Jolo (Paulo Avelino), a mysterious man who would do anything to run away from his past.

Could Sari disprove her supposed destiny, or will her love make Jolo stay? Find out in “My Love Will Make You Disappear”, directed by Chad Vidanes, premiering in cinemas nationwide on March 26!
