After being invited to attend the ABS-CBN Ball for the second time this year, drag queen and Star Records recording artist Viñas Deluxe shared she was so excited when she first received her invitation that she went to work right away thinking of a good concept for an eye-catching outfit for the night.

“Idea ko ito na very basic lang naman. ‘Pag sinabi kasing spring, ‘di ba flowers for spring? Pero I wanted to incorporate this into being a drag queen kasi bihira lang naman magkaroon ng drag queen sa mga ganitong ball. So gusto ko maging bulaklak bilang wala naman akong buklaklak (laughs). Ang na-e-enjoy ko talaga ‘yung pag-de-dress up. Dito ako nag-re-rediscover sa kung ano ‘yung gusto ko maging fantasy on that night, kung ano ‘yung gusto ko maging look, kung gaano ako mag-pe-prepare. ‘Yun ‘yung pinaka na-e-enjoy ko and I’m happy na na-a-appreciate siya ng mga tao, na tumitingin sila, nagugulat sila, ganun,” she told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.

The Drag Race Philippines alumni (real name Christian Ric Viñas) also shared exciting updates about her singing career this year. “Oh my God, of course mag-ri-release ako ng mga songs, under Star Music of course. I’m so excited for that! Six songs siya so it’s an EP. I’m so excited kasi ilalabas na ‘yan soonest!” she said.

The talented performer also credited Star Music head Jonathan Manalo for guiding her in her career as a recording artist. “Grabe. Inaalagaan niya ako ng bongga. Naloka ako kasi parang sabi sa akin ng mga manager ko hindi lahat tinututukan ng Mr. Jonathan, tapos ako nag-record ako with him tapos ipinagkatiwala niya sa akin ‘yung isang pasabog na song niya para i-revive ko at bigyan ng sariling rendition. Tapos ginawan niya ako ng music,” she recalled. “So ang personal ng connection niya. Sobrang na-appreciate ko ‘yun kasi sino ba naman ako? Hindi naman ako nanggaling from a singing contest or whatever. I’m just a super pretty drag queen!”
