After his successful sold out concert leg last year, singer and songwriter Maki (real name Ralph William Datoon) shared what other things his fans can look forward to.

“So, so many things! First of all, ‘yung CDO (Cagayan de Oro) and yung Baguio Maki concert will be happening in May. So bago siyang dates for the Maki concert. I’m just so happy and excited for it. And of course, maraming marami pang mangyayari sa 2025. We’re looking to travel all around the world, maybe sa US, Canada, and iba pang Southeast Asian countries,” Maki told PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.

The 25-year-old Tarsier Records artist, who fast grew in popularity last year when he released the single  "Dilaw" and songs like “Saan?”, “Bakit?”, and his most recent single “Bughaw”,  shared who he looks forward to going home to everyday after a long day of work.

“My cat Cloud. He’s two years old. He’s a black cat. Lagi kaming nag-de-date,” Maki shared. “Meron akong isa pang cat na white, pero sa brother ko kasi natutulog. Pero ako yung mostly nag-aalaga. Kilala ng fans ko ‘yung cats ko.”

Musical artist and animal lover by heart, Maki revealed that he actually wrote a song dedicated to Cloud, who he credits for being his constant.

“Cloud is very important to me kasi whenever I need someone, ‘yung time na kailangan na kailangan ko ng someone, siya talaga ‘yung nandun,” he explained. “Actually, I wrote a song for Cloud and it’s going to be released very, very soon. It’s called ‘Itim Na Ulap’ kasi I named him Cloud pero he’s black. Mahilig kasi ako sa rain, ‘yung comfort ng rain.”

Maki says he is also a big believer in adopting and rescuing animals instead of buying them as pets. “Super important ni Cloud sa life ko kasi when I needed someone, and whenever I think of someone na sino kaya ang may favorite sa akin, I always think of my cat. I really think sila ‘yung pinaka-loyal sa buong mundo kasi their world revolves around you. Grabe, pag-uwi ko andiyan siya. Bigay siya ng friend ko kasi I’ve always wanted to adopt, not buy, kasi ayokong bumili. Kasi ang daming cats na nandiyan sa streets and dumadami na. So gusto ko mag-adopt ng cat. Fortunately, binigyan ako ng friend ko, tapos ayun si Cloud,” he added.

For Valentine’s day, the talented singer says he is content and happy with his status this year. “I’m super, super single and I’m in a relationship with my career at the moment. I’m just so in love with the life I have right now and I can’t lose it so I’m doing my best to maintain everything, to rest, work, and to give back the blessings naman sa ibang tao,” he revealed.

When asked what he would consider as a romantic date, he didn’t hesitate to answer: “Introvert kasi ako so mas gusto ko indoors. Siguro movie date, late night snacks, ganyan. I’ve done that. With my cat.”

Maki admits he is still getting used to his continually rising popularity and success. “Actually, ‘di pa talaga ako nasasanay. Gusto ko kasi talagang may natututunan wherever I go. So I always try my best and ‘yun naman talaga ‘yung point ng concert: it’s to make people happy,” he shared.
