Netflix has released the teaser for the second season of Wednesday, giving fans a sneak peek at the next chapter of the hit series.

In the teaser, Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega, is seen returning to Nevermore Academy.

"This is the first time you ever willingly returned to a school. How does it feel?" Wednesday's mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), asks.

"Like returning to the scene of the crime. I already know where the bodies are buried," Wednesday replies.

This season, fans will see more of the Addams family on campus according to a report by Netflix's Tudum. Wednesday’s younger brother Pugsley (Isaac Ordonez) begins his own journey at Nevermore, while their parents, Morticia and Gomez Addams (Luis Guzmán), are expected to play a larger role, which is something Wednesday finds far from comforting.

Jenna shared her excitement about returning to the role. "The most exciting thing is being able to revisit her. Wednesday Addams is one of the coolest characters of all time, so to have gotten the opportunity to play her once was incredible, and then to be able to slip into the costume and tone again, it’s so much fun," she told Tudum.

The actress went on: "She runs circles around everyone that she has a conversation with, so to play someone who’s so much more intelligent than you will ever be, it’s quite funny and strange and enjoyable."

The new season promises an expanded universe, featuring never-before-seen locations and fresh faces, while bringing back beloved characters such as Wednesday’s loyal roommate Enid (Emma Myers), rival-turned-ally Bianca (Joy Sunday), barista-turned-Hyde Tyler (Hunter Doohan), and the ever-helpful Thing (Victor Dorobantu).

"Season 1 really focused on Wednesday, but you met the other characters but didn’t get to know them, and now we get to expand their storylines and expand the scope and breadth of the show," series creator Alfred Gough relayed.

Series creator Miles Millar added: "Nothing is what it seems in Season 2. Wednesday goes into this season thinking she knows Nevermore. It’s the first time she’s returned to a school willingly. But as soon as she gets back, nothing happens that she’s expecting. She thinks she’s going to be in control, that she knows where all the bodies are buried, and she doesn’t."
