MANILA -- OPM singer Kitchie Nadal showed why her hit songs remain iconic and timeless through her solo concert, "New Ground," at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Saturday.

A year after she staged her 20th anniversary concert, the OPM hitmaker, who’s now based in Spain, returned to the country to redefine her legacy all while connecting with new music enthusiasts.

Performing some of her classic songs, such as "Malaya," "Isang Araw," "Run," and "Breathe," among others, Nadal treated her fans with surprises, including her version of Eraserheads’ “Ligaya” and Rivermaya’s “214,” along with a jam-packed lineup of guest performers.

Singer-songwriter Zild Benitez was the first guest to share the stage with the OPM icon that night, performing a duet version of his song “Kyusi” and Kitchie’s “Fire.”

Despite different genres, rapper Skusta Clee shared that it was an immediate yes when Kitchie asked him to be one of the guest performers on her special night.

The duo wrapped their collab stage by singing one of the rapper’s alternative rock songs, “Kalimutan Ka.”

Representing P-pop, rising girl group KAIA said they felt honored to share the stage with the singer-songwriter as they paid homage to some of the classic OPM songs with a medley.

But even as she welcomed a new generation of musicians on stage, Nadal made sure to have her fellow alternative rock icon and friend Barbie Almalbis with her on her big night.

The two OPM idols performed “Torpe” and “Iniibig Kita,” in which they described as songs about their youth.

Wrapping up the lineup of her guest performers, Arthur Nery emerged from the stage to join Kitchie in serenading the crowd with their duet version of the classic love song “Maging Sino Ka Man.”

A Kitchie Nadal concert experience is not complete without her singing her well-loved songs from the famous “Kitchie Nadal medley,” which became a constant go-to karaoke song for a lot of Filipinos.

The crowd made sure to hit note after note of “Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin,” “Same Ground,” and “Bulong.”
