MANILA (UPDATED) — Authorities seized around P164 million worth of suspected shabu from a Canadian passenger at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on Monday, the police Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) said.

The passenger has since undergone inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice.

It said Office for Transportation Security personnel detected suspicious white substances inside the woman’s luggage during an x-ray screening at the NAIA Terminal 3.

This prompted a Bureau of Customs (BOC) inspector to manually inspect the luggage, in which plastic bags with white crystalline powder were found.
