Kapamilya star Maymay Entrata is overjoyed to perform the Filipino version of "Nasaan Ang Hiling," the theme song for Disney’s live action Snow White adaptation.

Maymay took to social media to express her gratitude, describing the experience as magical.

“What a magical experience it is to feel like a princess! Thank you po, @disneystudiosph, for giving me this incredible opportunity to live out my dream,” Maymay wrote.

She also shared behind-the-scenes photos and clips of her portrayal of Snow White, as well as moments with fans. Reflecting on the experience, Maymay shared her heartfelt realization.

“This experience has taught me that being a princess isn’t just about wearing a beautiful dress or having flawless makeup. It’s about choosing joy, grace, and kindness in every moment,” Maymay said.

She went on: “A true princess carries her light from within. 🥹✨.”

For the project, Maymay wore a custom Snow White-inspired ensemble by Filipino designer Ehrran Montoya, featuring elements reminiscent of the character’s iconic blue-and-yellow gown.

In an interview with Metro, Maymay recalled her reaction upon learning she had been chosen to sing the localized version of the Snow White theme song.

“Nasa kotse po ako tapos sinabi po sa akin [ng handler ko] na ako po ’yung kakanta ng Tagalog version. Sabi ko, ‘Wait lang. Wait lang! Ha?! Baka nagkamali sila. Totoo ba talaga? Ako ba talaga?’,” Maymay said.

Excited yet challenged by the opportunity, Maymay admitted she was initially unsure about how to approach the song, as it differed greatly from her usual genre.

“Sobrang excited ako but at the same time, I asked myself, ‘Ano ba ’yung magiging approach ko sa kanta na ’yun?’ Since sobrang malayo ’yung genre ko at never akong kumanta ng classical songs and parang theatrical way of singing,” she said.

To prepare, she received vocal coaching from Annie Quintos, Jade Riccio, and Greg Shilling, who guided her in adopting a theatrical singing style while maintaining her unique voice.

“Meron silang ibinigay na technique on how to sing it in a theatrical way but at the same time, sobrang nagustuhan ko po na kahit ganu’n ’yung pagkanta mo, you can also keep your unique style,” she expressed.

Aside from recording the song, Maymay also filmed a music video and participated in a themed photoshoot. She became emotional during the shoot, realizing she was momentarily stepping into a Disney princess’s shoes.

“I remember po nu’ng nag-shoot kami ng music video, sobrang naging emotional ako because I’m just like Snow White. I’m also a dreamer kagaya niya,” she stated.

She was also able to relate to Snow White’s journey, recalling how she once struggled with uncertainty about her future.

“Pero dahil sa dreams ko, parang they helped me feel alive and motivated po, knowing that someday, I’ll be where I’ve always dreamed of being and that someday I’ll be living my dreams,” she said.

Beyond her Disney project, Maymay recently released her single “Paradise,” a collaboration with local and international songwriters and producers.

“Ako po na naging parte ng project na ito, sobra po akong blessed kasi I know these people are very talented po talaga, and for them to share din po ‘yung talent sa akin, I felt more trusted,” Maymay told PUSH ABS-CBN. “Kung maririnig mo yung ‘Paradise’ na sobrang it’s something na beautiful and peaceful, pero ‘yung song very opposite po.”

She described “Paradise” as a song with a peaceful and beautiful sound, though its message is quite the opposite. Additionally, Maymay teased her upcoming extended play (EP) album, set for release later this year.

“We’ve done it po two years ago. Hindi lang ‘Paradise’ yung nagawa namin kung hindi buong EP. May upcoming EP po ako this year,” Maymay said.
