Judy Ann Santos reflects on memorable trip to Portugal

Judy Ann Santos shared her unforgettable experience in Porto, Portugal, as she attended the Fantasporto Film Festival, where she clinched the Best Actress Award for her performance in Espantaho.

Taking to Instagram, the actress shared glimpses of her adventure in the picturesque city alongside her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, and close friends.

"PORTO... you were such a revelation. Napaka-charming mo. Sa kabila ng lamig at ulan, ang ganda mo pa ring libutin," she posted.  

The actress added: "It made this trip even more special with the closest and dearest people to me."

Judy Ann admitted that she traveled to Porto with no expectations, simply eager to represent their film and the Philippines on an international stage.

"Pumunta kami ng Porto ng walang inaasahan kundi mai-represinta lang namin ang pelikula at bansa natin. Umuwi akong bitbit ang pinakamabigat na [tropeyong] natanggap ko buong buhay ko," she stated.

The actress expressed her deep gratitude to the Fantasporto Film Festival. "Maraming salamat FANTASPORTO! Hinigitan mo ang lahat sa puso ko," she stated.

Judy Ann also dedicated her big win to her Espantaho team. "Alay ko to sa lahat ng bumuo ng pelikulang ESPANTAHO.. para sa inyo to.. @chitorono @direk_chris_martinez @attyjoji @neildaza sa buong cast, crew, staff, editors .. lahat lahat kayo.. para sa jnyo to!"

The actress also took a moment to express appreciation for Ryan for making the journey even more special. "And my love @ryan_agoncillo thank you, for making this journey more memorable. I love you forever. ❤️"

Judy Ann won her Best Actress award at Fantasporto Film Festival on March 9.

In her acceptance speech, the actress expressed her pride in representing the Philippines. "I would like to thank the jury, Fantasporto for the recognition. It is with great pride and honor that I am here to represent my country which is the Philippines," she stated.

She also dedicated her award to her family. "To my husband and to my three children, they've always been my inspiration in every project I make. I'm just so happy I am bringing home the best souvenir," she stated.

Espantaho follows the story of "Monet (played by Judy Ann) and her mother Rosa, who are mourning over the death of the family patriarch Pabling. During the nine days of pasiyam, dark secrets and a malevolent plot start to unravel," as per its IMDb.
