Actor-singer Carlos Agassi revealed the reason why his former musical group, The Hunks, disbanded. In a TikTok video, he explained that it just seemed a more practical move for them to disband as other members wanted a different take on their career.

The Hunks were a five-member group consisting of Carlos, Piolo Pascual, Jericho Rosales, Diether Ocampo, and Bernard Palanca. The quintet were ABS-CBN’s five stars in the 2000s that sang and danced in concerts, both in and out of the country.

Carlos was asked by a fan if they still see each other despite not being in the same group any longer.

“Guys kaya nga nabuwag kasi gusto ng kanya-kanyang career ng iba kasi ka ‘pag group, pantay-pantay kami sa –– sa exposure, sa TF (talent fee), sa career. So para makaangat ‘yung iba, parang nabuwag,” he explained. “Ganun na nga ‘yung nangyari and then wala na talaga.”

He recalled having an injury in the past, yet no one from the group asked him if he was recovering well. Despite this, he maintained that he has no bad blood with any of the former members and just taking it as part of showbiz.

“Yung napilayan ako, walang nag-check sa akin,” he said. “Pero hindi masama ‘yun, okay lang. Ganun talaga ang buhay.”

Carlos added more scenarios that transpired within the previous years, following it up with an assurance that he is happy for the success of his previous group’s members.

“Ganun talaga ang buhay guys, pero hindi masama ‘yun. Ganun talaga, that’s life,” he said. “Kumbaga, magkakakompetensya kami. Ayaw nila makabalik ako, so tama kayo, mali ako.”

“I’m very, very happy for them. Sobrang natutuwa ako for them. Kanya-kanya tayo ng path. Let’s not compare ourselves to others. Ang buhay, 99% reaction sa ginawa sa atin,” he added.

All five members of The Hunks have chosen separate paths in their careers–– Piolo, Jericho, Diether, and Bernard have continued acting  while Carlos is busy making music.
