Jennie's addition to the cast was announced on Tuesday by Disney+ Philippines, which streams the program originally aired on the Korean network JTBC, on its X (formerly Twitter) account.

"My Name is Gabriel," which premiered in June, follows several South Korean celebrities as they immerse themselves in the lives of people from different countries for 72 hours.

Jennie is set to play the role of Maria, the owner of a farmhouse bed and breakfast near Rome, Italy, according to a Korea Times report.

"My Name is Gabriel" also features actors Ji Chang-wook, Park Bo-gum and Yeom Hye-ran; comedians Park Myung-soo and Hong Jin-kyung; "Single's Inferno" breakout star Dex; and dancer Gabee from "Street Woman Fighter."

"My Name is Gabriel" is also the latest variety program to cast Jennie, following "Village Survival, The Eight" and "Apartment404."
