MANILA -- "Whispers In The Wind," the reunion movie project of Carlo Aquino and Barbie Imperial, will no longer hold a premiere night.

In a public advisory released via a social media post on Thursday, Mavx Productions said that it "decided to cancel the event and redirect the funds intended for it to help those who are affected by Typhoon Carina."

It also said that the company was "dedicated to support our community in this time of need."

Last week,  the trailer for "Whispers In The Wind" was released.

The almost three-minute video introduces the main characters Ren and Hannah, portrayed by Aquino and Imperial, respectively.

Ren is searching for his mother in Japan, where he meets Hannah, a woman who is trying to move on from the tragedy of losing her loved one because of a tsunami. The trailer also highlights how a white phone booth helps Japan's tsunami survivors.

Directed by RC Delos Reyes, the movie which also stars Kakai Bautista and Gian Magdangal, will hit cinemas on August 21.

Early this year, Aquino and Imperial went to Japan to shoot "Whispers in The Wind."

The dramatic film marks Aquino and Imperial's second movie project after last year's "I Love Lizzy."

On Wednesday, Metro Manila was put under state of calamity due to typhoon Carina, which spawned widespread floods.
