MANILA — KZ Tandingan marked a last-minute milestone for 2019 on Monday, with her engagement to her fellow musician and long-time boyfriend TJ Monterde.

On Instagram, Monterde shared a photo of him with Tandingan wearing her engagement ring, captioned: “…and Thank You God,
for my wife to be.”

The caption was a continuation of another Instagram post five hours prior, where Monterde expressed gratitude on the occasion of his 30th birthday.

In that post, he wrote: “Thirty on thirty! Thank You God for every breath You’ve given me, Thank You God for the balance and harmony, Thank You God for the moon, the stars, and the sea...”

In a “Magandang Buhay” interview in 2017, Monterde said he had been friends with Tandingan for two years — they belong to the same “barkada” — before he admitted having romantic feelings for her.

They dated for a year prior to becoming an official couple in January 2015.
