Actress Angelica Panganiban on Thursday issued an apology over her photo taken at the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin.

Panganiban is currently on vacation in Europe, with stops including Rome, Italy, and the German capital, based on her recent Instagram updates.

One such update was the photo of her posing in the middle of the memorial to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust.

She captioned the Instagram Stories snap with: “Kabibili ko nga lang pala ng bansang ito [ayon] sa OOTD ko. Tabi! Dadaan ang madam!”

Panganiban was referring to her “outfit of the day.” In the photo, she was wearing a long back dress and what appeared to be a matching sweater, while carrying an open umbrella.

The photo and its caption drew criticism from followers of Panganiban, with some on Twitter lamenting the insensitive humor in light of the memorial’s meaning.

Appearing to take heed of the backlash, Panganiban has since taken down the Instagram update, and publicly said sorry through tweets.

“While there is no malice and intention to malign and disrespect the memories of the Holocaust, I would like to apologize for offending the sensibilities of others over a picture I posted on my IG story,” she wrote.

“As I travel, I will be more informed about the history and use this as learning experience to be more conscious on things I post. Again, my sincerest apologies,” Panganiban said.
