MANILA – The remains of actress Lilia Cuntapay were finally laid to rest on Tuesday morning.

Cuntapay was brought to her final resting place at a cemetery in Pinili, Ilocos Norte.

According to his son Gilmore, it was Cuntapay's request to be laid to rest in her hometown in Gonzaga, Cagayan but he decided on Pinili so he could regularly visit his mother's grave.

Cuntapay, who was dubbed the "Queen of Philippine Horror Movies," died last August 20. Prior to her death, she had an illness which involved her spinal cord that eventually caused her hospitalization in July.
