'Kimi no Na wa' is coming to Netflix PH this July 10

MANILA -- It's been up on iWant as one of the streaming site's premium content, with a Tagalog dub.

And now, fans of "Kimi no Na wa," or "Your Name," will be delighted to discover yet another excuse to watch the beloved anime film all over again, as it becomes available on Netflix.

The Makoto Shinkai masterpiece, about a pair of teenagers drawn to each other by gender-swapping dreams, is slated for a July 10 Netflix debut, as seen in the screenshot below.

It comes a few months after Netflix added movies from the famed Japanese animation studio Studio Ghibli, and years after "Kimi no Na Wa" was shown in local cinemas to much commercial success.

"Kimi no Na wa" became the highest grossing animated movie in the Philippines in 2016, with critics and fans attributing its popularity with Shinkai's ability to combine gorgeous, breathtaking animation with eternally relatable themes such as longing and separation.

It was shown on ABS-CBN last year, with a Tagalog dub.

The fan-favorite movie is among the new list of Japanese anime titles being added to Netflix this month, with some of the others being "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress," and "Japan Sinks: 2020."
