MANILA -- After almost three years, actress Maricar Reyes is set to return to the small screen.

In an interview on Wednesday, Reyes shared that she will be part of the upcoming series "Bagani," with Enrique Gil and Liza Soberano.

"Inaayos din (ang schedule). Ang hirap din kasi Bagani's cast is very big. At 'yun mga bagets ang schedule nila ay iba-iba," Reyes told ABS-CBN News.

Asked what made her decide to accept the project, Reyes said: "I like the role. It's not very heavy. Nakakatuwa 'yung role, iba sa mata. Yun din ang hinahanap ko lagi, something different, what's different to the eyes."

Reyes said she and her husband Richard Poon decided to take a break from doing TV shows so they could spend more time together.

"Well, No. 1, we wanted to have a business. It's something for the future, 'yun ang long-term plan namin eh. Then we are the kind of couple na in a way hindi kami naniniwala sa 'me time.' Kung magmi-me time ka siguro magmasahe ka ng one hour," she explained.

"We thought na it's really better for our relationship to be always close. Kailangan talaga i-maintain namin every day, i-fight namin na we are really each other's best friend."

But now that she's returning to doing teleseryes, Reyes assured that she has the support of Poon.

"We talked about it. Every role na kukunin ko ina-analyze din namin if it will take too much time or kung okay ba itong role na ito," the actress said.

Reyes was last seen in the 2014 series "Sana Bukas Pa Ang Kahapon" with Bea Alonzo.

"I had fun doing that role. 'Yun nga nung ginawa ko 'yung role na 'yon, one year pa lang kaming married. Then we realized with the taping schedule and the promos, minsan magpa-fly ka sa province to promote, mahirap. We don't get to spend the time that we want para kami talaga," Reyes said.

Aside from "Bagani," Reyes is also set to do two movies.
