MANILA – After being estranged for years, Tony Labrusca said he and his biological father Boom Labrusca have renewed their relationship.

Speaking on “Tonight with Boy Abunda,” the younger Labrusca said he just chose to forgive his dad and “accept him in my life now.”

“We are good. We are really good,” he said.

Labrusca said it meant a lot to him that his father was by his side when he got into an airport controversy back in January.

“He was there for me every step of the way. He really made me feel safe and he told me, ‘Buddy, I am really here for you.’ I really appreciate that,” he said.

When asked if they’ve had the chance to have a heart-to-heart talk, the “Sino ang May Sala” actor said: “Yeah, always and kapag kailangan ko ng advice. We are good.”

As a child, Labrusca felt that he had to find the answers to his questions about his real father as he knew him only by name and that he's an actor in the Philippines, according to what his mother told him.

After growing tired with this nagging feeling, Labrusca, who grew up in Canada, decided to return to the Philippines to find out more about himself.

It was when he joined “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” that he got this wish when his father surprised him on the show.

Since then, the two Labruscas have been in touch.
