Screen veteran Gabby Concepcion has finally aired his side after his former wife and onscreen partner, Sharon Cuneta, apologized to their fans about their much-awaited reunion film project being shelved once again.

The parents of actress KC Concepcion just recently had their fans rejoicing, when they reunited onscreen for a Valentine's Day ad for a fastfood chain they both endorse.

While their once strained relationship appeared to improve following the ad's release, the situation seemed to turn sour again when Cuneta deleted photos of her with Concepcion on her Instagram page.

That was followed by Cuneta's candid response to fans airing their disappointment in comments on her Instagram posts.

Apparently referring to the planned reunion film under ABS-CBN's Star Cinema, she wrote in a since-deleted comment: "Guys, I am sorry. Star has done as much as they can. I have done as much as I could.

"This is hurtful to me as well. If you are upset, how do you think I feel? Star or I did not want to break your hearts. My heart is broken.

"And I am so very tired. It may be hard to accept, but there may never be another Sharon-Gabby movie again. Sorry."

While neither Cuneta nor Concepcion has divulged the reason behind the cancellation of the project, rumors swirled that the former couple did not agree on some details of the reunion, supposedly including the billing, or whose name comes first in promotions of the movie.

Over the weekend, Concepcion finally addressed Cuneta's earlier revelation that the film is no longer pushing through, as quoted by showbiz journalist Ambet Nabus in his Abante column published Monday.

"To clarify lang ha, wala talaga sa akin ang problema," Concepcion reportedly said. "Ever since, I am very open and cooperative sa sinasabing reunion movie project na iyan."

Concepcion added: "It's just that our producer has laid out some items na nu'ng sinang-ayunan ko ay hindi pala raw gusto ni Sharon."

According to Concepcion, he would have wanted to reunite with Cuneta on the big screen as a "legacy" to their long-time supporters, as well as their daughter, KC, whom he said would have inherited the "conjugal earning" of the film.
