MANILA – Marlo Mortel took to social media to share a song he composed for his mother, who is currently battling cancer.

The lyrics of his composition expresses how much he wants his mom to get better and that he is willing to do anything just to see this happen.

Wrote a song for my Mom, and for all the Cancer patients out there. We love you.

Stricken by stage four breast cancer, Mortel's mom, Merlie Pamintuan, has been in and out of the hospital.

Last year, Mortel sought for prayers as his mom went through grueling surgeries. It was in 2014 when Pamintuan was first diagnosed with cancer.

In October, Mortel organized a benefit concert with the help of some friends to raise funds for the medical expenses of his mom.

Titled "Songs for Mama," it was held on October 13 at Centris, Quezon City. It featured performances from him and special guests Jed Madela, Janella Salvador, Maymay Entrata, Kisses Delavin, Michael Pangilinan and Morisette.
