MANILA — Julia Montes' television comeback is poised to bend the teleserye norm as it nears its premiere — not on a weekday time slot, as was expected, but as a weekend offering.

What's more, "24/7" will not air daily, like traditional soap operas, but once weekly on Sundays, starting February 23.

The airing schedule was confirmed in "24/7's" latest teaser, which bills the ABS-CBN program as the "first weekly action-drama series on Philippine TV."

Prior to her year-long hiatus, Montes had been a staple lead in daily soaps, whether on Primetime Bida ("Mara Clara," "Walang Hanggan") or during the afternoon Kapamilya Gold block ("Doble Kara," "Asintado").

Dreamscape Entertainment, the production unit behind "24/7," is the same team behind the likes of "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" and the recently concluded "Kadenang Ginto," both programs that air five times a week.

Understandably, fans of Montes, a Dreamscape muse, had expected "24/7" to have air similarly as her past collaborations with the unit.

With its schedule, "24/7" follows successive genre mini-series to occupy the Sunday night time slot. Starting in April 2019, ABS-CBN aired, in order, "Hiwaga ng Kambat," "Parasite Island," and "The Haunted" — all Dreamscape productions.

"24/7" follows Montes as Mia, a single mother and security guard who will do everything to save her son amid the deadly outbreak of a mysterious disease.

She is joined by an all-star cast, including Pen Medina, Arjo Atayde, Edu Manzano, Denise Laurel, JC Santos, Anna Luna, Joross Gamboa, Melissa Ricks, Pepe Herrera, Paeng Sudayan, Eric Fructuoso, Benj Manalo, Patrick Sugui, Joem Bascon, Alora Sasam, Amy Austria, Meryll Soriano, McCoy De Leon, and Matt Evans.

Emmanuel Q. Palo and Darnel Villaflor direct.
