MANILA – Former beauty queen Michelle Van Eimeren gave a heartwarming message to her daughter Leila, who left Australia to live with her father, singer Ogie Alcasid, in the Philippines for one year.

“Today is the start of another big adventure for you,” Van Eimeren said in an Instagram post on Wednesday. “Breathe in each moment, live with intention and have gratitude for even the smallest details.”

“Enjoy this year of self-discovery, reconnecting with your roots and most importantly, family,” she added. “I’m excited to hear all your stories, celebrate your achievements and of course, [I’ll] always be here if you need me if anything doesn’t go as planned.”

Van Eimeren, who represented Australia in the 1994 Miss Universe pageant held in the Philippines, married Alcasid in 1996.

Their marriage was annulled in 2007.

Alcasid is now married to singer Regine Velasquez, while Van Eimeren is currently based in Australia with her husband, Mark Murrow.

Van Eimeren and Alcasid, as well as their respective partners, have maintained close relationships. Van Eimeren and Murrow are godparents to Nate, Alcasid’s son with Velasquez.
