MANILA -- Meralco, the country's largest power distributor, said Friday contingency measures were in place to ensure electricity supply during the May elections, as Luzon was hit with rotational brownouts for the third straight day.

In the 2016 presidential vote, Meralco deployed generator sets in critical areas to ensure that there are no outages, company spokesman Jose Zaldarriaga said.
