Pilipinas Got Talent had a successful eight-year run from 2010 to 2018 that had six seasons. It produced six grand winners, one of which is the remarkable tandem of interpretative dancers Anjanette and Gervin called the “Power Duo,” who didn’t just win our hearts with their astonishing performances, but with the genuine romantic love that they also share during the fifth season.

Hailing from the “Art Capital of the Philippines,” Angono, Rizal, the pair immediately got everyone enthralled and moved by the emotive dance number that they exhibited during the auditions. Cladded in white ensembles, they agilely glided, tumbled, twisted, leaped, and rolled, as well as flexibly bent their bodies as they gave a spectacular show to the spectators, which included the four esteemed judges, namely Vice Ganda, Freddie M. Garcia, Angel Locsin, and Robin Padilla. There were also instances when Gervin had to toss, flip, and swing around Anjanette, leaving us all in awe.

With how Power Duo was able to deliver an impressive, fantastic, and flawless performance, not to mention heartfelt, as what the Unkabogable Star commented, the live audience strongly urged the judges to press the golden buzzer for them.

“’Yong ginawa n’yo, kaya maganda ang epekto sa amin kasi nararamdaman namin ‘yong istorya. May sincerity. May sincerity sa haplos, may sincerity sa tinginan. Totoo ‘yong istorya. Tumatagos sa amin mula d’yan sa entablado papunta rito. Damang-dama namin. Ang husay-husay n’yo,” Vice conveyed.

Noticing how genuinely sweet and intimate they are to one another, judges couldn’t help but be intrigued by the real score between them. Gervin told them that they were just friends and went on to confess that he’d been courting her for two months already that time. Vice prompted him to ask Anjanette for her sweet “yes” through another performance, in which Gervin told his partner that he’s willing to wait for her and that he loves her so much.

In return, Anjanette expressed her gratitude to him, as well as her mutual feelings for him, that made the venue erupt into boisterous cheers.

Judge Robin finally gave in to the public’s insistent demand and pressed the golden buzzer with all his might, to which his fellow judges totally agreed. That gave them a sure slot to the semifinals, without having to go through the other phases of the competition.

As she was evidently rooting for them, Vice advised them to carry the love they have for each other because she firmly believed that it would be their greatest weapon in reaching the finish line.
