Throughout the six seasons of Pilipinas Got Talent, we’d certainly witnessed a variety of talents showcased by individuals and groups hailing from different parts of country. And among the performances that probably stood out among the rest was of Mama’s Boyz from Sta. Mesa, Manila, who completely amused us with their quirky and dumbfounding towel dance during their stint in the Season 6 in 2018.

The four lads, who were all proud Mama’s Boys, were initially cladded in odd, colorful suits when they stepped on the stage and introduced their group. They then headed to the backstage to take those off and changed to identical white body towels, much to the surprise of the four judges and audiences alike. While it was already dumbfounding enough, they went on to drive everyone hysterical when they started to dance and even did a few insane and funny tricks.

As they returned to the stage after their wacky performance, Vice commended them for their confidence in pursuit of making the audiences entertained, then jested that their laughter was “tawang may kasamang pandidiri.

She and the other judges then went on to tease Angel Locsin, who was seemingly “traumatized” and, at the same time, amused by everything that she had just seen. She stated, “Pero nakakaaliw. Ibibigay ko sa inyo na kakaiba siya at ang tapang n’yo. ‘Yon naman ang hinahanap natin dito sa Pilipinas Got Talent – ang gulatin n’yo kami sa kakaibang performance n’yo.”

Robin Padilla echoed this by saying how great comedians and dancers they were, while Freddie M. Garcia commented that “it’s the best comedy show I’ve seen”.

According to one of the members of Mama’s Boyz, they drew inspiration from the viral videos that they saw online, which they assumed would be a hit to the viewers – which Angel really found absurd.

In the end, the astonishing and hilarious number of Mama’s Boyz were still able to get the four precious “yes” of the esteemed judges.

Watch out for other remarkable performances and unforgettable contestants from past seasons of Pilipinas Got Talent in the next episodes of PGT Rewind!
