Women – what doesn’t kill them makes them stronger, as a team. Shared pain brings girls together that even enemies can turn into friends once they relate to each other’s experiences. So, when both Ellen (Ara Mina) and Cassandra (Maika Rivera) got pregnant and suffered from abuse, the bad blood turned history as they became allies against the abuser. Although it’s a difficult situation they’re in, we’re all for the female camaraderie shown in this Kapamilya Toplist of scenes from FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.

Ellen and Cassandra used to be rivals with the same goal to seduce Mariano (Rowell Santiago). The former thought it was an easier route to power and prestige while the latter was ordered by Lily (Lorna Tolentino). But their games had gone wrong, resulting in unexpected pregnancies and physical assault. The first scene showed Ellen comforting Cassandra, who was then screaming for help, bruised and wounded like her.

Ellen, the one with more courage, took it as a sign to help each other. She treated Cassandra’s wounds and later on protected her from Mariano. Pointing a knife at him, she told him to back off.

After a failed attempt to escape, they decided to just sail through their unpredictable fate. Ellen thought she’d just wait locked up in a room until a better idea comes.

Cassandra, on the other hand, had a better chance to run off after Lily asked her to report in the palace. But she refused to just leave Ellen behind. She went back to her and promised that they’d escape together.

Besides the wounds and bruises, they also share the same regrets. They felt bad for having a relationship with Mariano in the name of ambition. Above all, having a mother’s heart pulled them closer, sharing the same dreams for their babies. They know their children deserve to be born and raised in a peaceful environment, which is impossible if they remain as Mariano and Lily’s slaves.

One of their most touching scenes showed a worried Cassandra leaning on Ellen’s shoulders; the latter said, “Huwag kang matakot. Unang-una, magkasama tayo.”

Cassandra also offered to bring Ellen with her, so they could start fresh using her money. She sincerely apologized for causing Ellen and Art (Tirso Cruz III)’s separation as part of Lily’s orders. Ellen, in turn, was quick to forgive.

Bent on putting their sorrows to an end, Cassandra and Ellen hatched an effective plan targeting Mariano’s weakness. They asked him to come over for a romantic night, then, tied him to a chair. He thought they were just flirting until they slapped him and left the room.

The two managed to escape from Mariano’s henchmen and hid in a hotel room. They talked about their next set of actions. Ellen plans to explain the truth and reconcile with Art while Cassandra wishes to start fresh abroad.
