Two members of P-Pop group SB19 expressed their thoughts on their personal X (formerly Twitter) account after their fans had a heated argument with fans of Philippine volleyball stalwart, Sisi Rondina.

Pablo and Stell’s statements comes after their fans called out the volleyball player for her harmless joke during the Pistang Pinoy sa Korea 2024 held in South Korea last June 9.

When asked by the host which performance the volleyball player was looking forward to at the event, she jokingly answered a international coffee brand.

“SB19 daw po, beh Starbucks lang alam ko,” she quipped.

Fans of the P-Pop boy group weren’t amused with Sisi’s answer and immediately took to social media on how “offended” they were. This resulted in several volleyball fans coming to the defense of the national team member.

Sisi has since gone on live on Instagram and apologized as she admitted that she isn’t familiar with SB19. She then revealed that fans have been messaging and attacking her after the video went viral.

“Personally, hindi ko talaga sila, I mean, hindi ko alam na. I’m really sorry… Kaya sa lahat po ng naoffend ko sorry po. Inaatake na po ako ng mga SB199 fans… Sorry po hindi ko po intensyon ‘yon,” she shared.

Stell immediately then went online and defended the volleyball player on his personal X account. He maintained how he doesn’t support the behavior some of their fans have been showing on social media.

“I personally don't tolerate this kind of behavior. Stop this,” Stell wrote.

Meanwhile, SB19’s leader, Pablo, released a lengthy statement to remind everyone to respect each other. He acknowledged that not everyone will know their group–– which he humbly shared that he is fine with.

“Respect and acknowledge na hindi lahat ng tao, aware or kilala ang grupo namin. Hindi sa lahat ng oras, everyone will hold a favorable opinion of us. THAT’S FINE! There’s no reason to spread hate, disrespect or drag down our fellow Filipinos,” he said.

“At the end of the day, we're proud of, and respect, every Filipino who's made strides to uplift the country whether sa music, sa sports, and sa iba pang larangan,” he added.

Both the volleyball and SB19 fans have since then stopped their feud on social media.
