Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo revealed that she got offers from other networks and management agencies before she signed an exclusive network contract with ABS-CBN on Friday, February 2.

In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News, the award-winning actress shared that she saw some news about her getting calls and offers from other management companies when her contract with the Kapamilya network was about to expire.

“I’ve seen the articles, the news, and for me naman kasi as a celebrity and siguro, I can speak in general for the celebrities, when your contract is ending, normal naman talaga to get offers from different networks, managements, or whatever. Parang it’s a normal thing,” she expressed.

The actress also said that there is nothing wrong with getting offers, especially for those celebrities who decided to part ways from their previous management.

“And I don't see anything wrong with it sa mga naka-decide na you know na lilipat. Desisyon mo 'yun. We all have the freedom to decide kung sino ang gusto mong mag-manage sa 'yo,” she stated.

The actress then shared that for her part, she declined such offers as her mind was already set on remaining with ABS-CBN and Star Magic, which have been her second home in her 20 years in the industry.

“Mabilis ko sigurong nasagot na hindi talaga. Because hindi ko naman siya naisip, because I'm very happy with everything now. Especially the partnership and the friendship with Direk Lauren (Dyogi) and Star Magic. Hindi ko talaga siya na na-entertain pero there were offers siyempre. But I know deep inside my heart na ABS is my only choice,” she remarked, highlighting the friendship and partnership they formed.

During the contract signing, Kathryn recalled that she made a promise with the Kapamilya network, four years ago during the network shutdown, to not leave and be with ABS-CBN until it recovers.

“I remember 2020, I made a promise. Sinabi ko sa ABS-CBN na ‘hindi kita iiwan at nandito lang ako hanggang makabangon ka ulit.’ Today, here I am fulfilling that promise. Ang daming nangyari sa ABS-CBN but mahal ko sobra yung kompanya,” the actress said.

“To my ABS-CBN family, this is my second home and alam kong medyo natagalan tayo dito hindi dahil sa iniisip niyo. I will always choose ABS-CBN. You know that this is my second home. You’re my Kapamilya and I will do anything for [my] family,” she added.

Meanwhile, the talented actress is looking forward to her future projects, especially now that she is very open to comfortably working with anybody.

“I’m really open now to working with anybody. I’m really open to working with different leading men or different women na alam ko na may matutunan pa ako,” Kathryn expressed.

The A Very Good Girl star also revealed that the top three celebrities she wants to work with in the future are Vilma Santos, Piolo Pascual, and Jericho Rosales.

The 27-year-old actress also admitted that she’s making adjustments in her career as she’s embarking on a new era.

“May kaunting adjustments talaga but then it’s a good kind of change. Ngayon mo lang to nafeel na it’s so empowering as a woman. Ang sarap sa pakiramdam na alam ko na hswak ko lang ngayon yung buhay ko, yung sarili ko, kung saan ko gusto pumunta, kung ano yung gusto ko gawin,” Kathryn stated.

After her successful film with Golden Globe nominee Dolly De Leon, Kathryn is set to star in the much-awaited film, Elena 1944, to be directed by Olivia Lamasan.
