With her twins’ Mavy and Cassy Legaspi turning 23 years old last January 6, Carmina Villarroel couldn’t help but share a meaningful birthday message in an episode of the GMA-7 program Sarap, 'Di Ba? on the same day. The twins are her children with husband and fellow actor Zoren Legaspi.

The actress and TV host seemed to address part of her message to son Mavy and his rumored breakup with love team partner Kyline Alcantara. Both Mavy and Kyline have yet to release official statements about the current status of their relationship.

Netizens noticed that both Carmina and Kyline seemed to post cryptic messages on their social media accounts starting last month when the breakup rumors first started, even though both parties have yet to even confirm their relationship in the first place.

Carmina told Mavy, “I'm trying to be careful kasi baka lagyan ng (ibang meaning) ang mga sasabihin ko. I don't want to overthink. Tatay and I are just happy that you're back. You know that I've been quiet for the past how many years? Hindi ko alam kung bakit sinasabi nilang nangingialam ako. But I don't care because I am your mother. Kung nakialam ako, hindi mangyayari ito. So, it only means na hindi ako nakialam. So that's why I'm so thankful because you're back."

The celebrity mom also reminded her two children the extent of her devotion and love for them.

“I want you to know, the two of you, that I would do everything and anything para sa inyong dalawa. Hindi ko lang kayang pumatay! But I would really defend you sa abot ng makakaya ko. I love you, guys. I love you so much and tandaan niyo lang na nandito kami ni Tatay para sa inyo. We always want what is best for you, guys. Hindi kami mga kontrabida ng buhay niyo, kakampi niyo kami. We’re drawing strength from each other. Pag ako yung tinitira, si Mavy ang nasasaktan. Pag si Mavy o si Cassy yung tinitira, kaming dalawa ni Zoren yung nasasaktan, pero tahimik lang kami. Kasi hindi naman  kami pala-away. Ayaw namin yun. Gusto lang namin ng peace and love sa lahat. So, yun lang, happy birthday, guys. I love you,” she explained.

During the program, Mina also admitted that she is supportive of whoever her children choose to date.

“Boto ako sa kahit na sino na liligaw at liligawan ng anak ko. And in the future, kung sino man yung makakarelasyon nila, yun lang yung magiging boto ako. At saka pag nakita ko na respectful yung tao na yun, yung totoo, ha? Yung genuine, very sincere, hindi ako naghahanap ng perpekto, pero yung may respeto sa lahat ng tao,” she said.

With her son being labeled as a "mama’s boy" since the breakup rumors surfaced, Carmina explained that it should not exactly be taken as a negative thing.

"Siguro nagkakaroon lamang ng hindi magandang dating. May ibang mama's boy na, kumbaga, na of age na, nasa marrying age na pero mas pinapakinggan pa rin yung nanay over the wives. That's why nagkakaroon ng ano (ganung dating).”
