Taylor Swift bagged nine awards at the recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards held on September 13, Wednesday (PH time).

The pop singer took home Video of the year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects for her hit track "Anti-Hero." She was also awarded Album of the Year for Midnights. Taylor was also crowned as Artist of the Year.

"Anti-Hero" is from the tenth studio album Midnights of Taylor which was released on October 21, 2022. The song broke the global and US records for the most streams in one day on Spotify and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

"This is unbelievable. The fact that this is a fan-voted award means so much to me. It's really felt like the adventure of a lifetime this past year. I cannot believe that it was a year ago at the VMAs that I announced the Midnights album. All I have to say tonight is thank you," Taylor said during her Video of the year acceptance speech.

Taylor also expressed her gratitude to the fans for allowing her to make music of different genres.

"I love making pop music. I love making pop music videos. I also love making country music. I love slinking around different genres and the only reason I'm allowed to that is because you, the fans, gave me the opportunity to do that," she stated in her speech for Best Pop award.

"It's all just one big adventure and it's all so much fun to challenge myself to make music that's different than what I made last and I just love you for it," she added.

The global pop star also gave a shoutout to her collaborator Jack Antonoff.

"I wanna say I'm really really lucky that I get to write songs with one of my best friends in the world, his name is Jack Antonoff. He is so talented, it is incomprehensible and I am so lucky I've been making music with him since we've done an album called 1989," she said in her acceptance speech for the Song of the Year award.

Taylor is also set to release 1989 (Taylor's Version) this October.

"The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th. To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane. I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!
