Extraordinary Attorney Woo star Park Eun-bin received the top honor at the recently concluded Baeksang Arts Awards 2023.

The South Korean actress received the Daesang Award or the Grand Prize at the event for her performance as Woo Young-woo, a 27-year-old lawyer with autism.

"Thank you so much, I feel like I am receiving this prize on behalf of the entire Extraordinary Attorney Woo team," she said in her speech.

Eun-bin attributed her success to those who supported her character in the series.

"Countless works have been produced over the course of the year, with numerous talented individuals dedicating themselves to their craft. As for myself, I believe that it was the unwavering support of those who have come to love the character of Woo Young Woo that led to my receiving this award," she stated.

She added: "I express my sincere gratitude to all those who have watched and supported the show. The overwhelming love and attention that Woo Young Woo has received has surpassed all expectations. In truth, I would not be standing here today without everyone's love."

Eun-bin said that receiving the Daeksang Award is a childhood dream that come true.

"I never expected this moment to arrive. When I was younger, I held onto my dream of becoming an actor, hoping that someday I would grow into an adult who could achieve the ultimate prize, the Daesang. Today, I am deeply grateful to have made that dream a reality," she stated.

The actress also said that she hopes "Young Woo has served as a means to better comprehend the autism spectrum, even if only in a small way."

"Your interest and encouraging words have been invaluable to me, and I hope that this show has been just as helpful to you. I did not aspire to change the world through my work, but rather to foster a kinder heart within everyone and to encourage people to appreciate each other's unique traits, thereby promoting diversity. Thank you for taking notice of this effort and supporting it," she stated.
