Actress and comedian Pokwang expressed relief on social media last December 23 as she won her case against her ex-partner, Lee O’Brian, who has been deported and blacklisted from the country. 

This comes after the Bureau of Immigration (BI) released an eight-page resolution earlier this month about the status of the case.

Aside from being deported and blacklisted, Lee’s tourist visa will also be cancelled.

“Justice served,” Pokwang wrote.

According to the BI ruling, the American citizen violated the terms and conditions of his stay in the Philippines due to his “active involvement in the film, television programs, and theatrical industry.” 

Lee appeared in several films from 2016 to 2018 –– "Mercury is Mine," "Signal Rock," "Ang Babaeng Allergic sa Wi-Fi," and "Sol Searching.

He also appeared in two television programs last year –– "Magpakailanman: The Rose Vega Story" and "Wish Ko Lang: Killer Menudo."

Earlier this year, the American actor was featured in the show "Sandwich," which was streamed on Vivamax. It has been reported that his involvement in the show was one of the reasons why he was found guilty of violating Sections 23 and 37 (A) (7) of the Philippine Immigration Act of 1940.

Pokwang's lawyer, Rafael Vicente Calinisan, expressed gratitude towards BI for supporting their team.

“We have been consistent that Lee O'Brian must be made accountable, as his repeated renewal of his tourist visa constitutes fraud and willful misrepresentation of facts, while his work engagements are violations of limitations under which he was admitted as a non-immigrant,” he said in a statement.

Meanwhile, supporters of Pokwang expressed their enthusiasm over her recent legal victory. Many of them have been praying for her to win since the case was filed by her legal team earlier this year.

Pokwang and Lee met in the United States while they were filming the 2014 film, EDSA Woolworth. 

The two dated for six years until they decided to part ways in 2021. They share a daughter together named Maliia who is under the comedian’s care.
