Actor JC de Vera is going to be a dad of two!

On Saturday, January 14, JC announced on Instagram that he and his wife Rikkah Cruz are expecting their second child together. The couple is already parents to a four-year-old daughter, Lana Athena.

Sharing on Instagram a clip from their gender reveal party, JC shared that they are expecting another baby girl.

“It’s a girl!!!” he wrote, followed by the hashtags #girldad and #girlpower.

Fans and friends of the couple quickly congratulated them on the news, including JC’s former Banana Sundae castmates Angelica Panganiban, John Prats, and Jayson Gainza.

JC and Rikkah first tied the knot in an under-the-radar civil ceremony in 2018, months before they welcomed their firstborn daughter.

However, it wasn't until March 2021 that the actor shared that he is a married man. He made the revelation in an interview with actress Erich Gonzales for her vlog.

According to JC, Rikkah is a former schoolmate of his and seven years his junior.

Asked how he knew that she was "the one," the Bakit 'Di Mo Sabihin? star shared that he passed through the eye of a needle in courting his wife.

"Pinahirapan niya 'ko. Dumaan ako sa butas ng karayom and hindi niya 'ko binibigyan ng any window para pumasok ako sa buhay niya. Takot siya,” he said.

He went on: “Kasi nga 'yung type of work kasi natin 'di ba. Siyempre 'pag hindi ka talaga nasa work natin, it's hard to undestand kung ano talaga 'yung ginagawa natin everyday, and para doon sa mga non-showbiz, matagal 'yung para ma-process sa kanila."

“Pero sabi ko nga, 'Pinahirapan mo 'ko, eh.' Sinuyo ko talaga and decided ako na I'll end up with you," he continued.

Months later, in September, the couple married for a second time in a church wedding held in Tagaytay.
