With his film Dito at Doon currently enjoying an extended release online via five major streaming platforms, TBA Studios director JP Habac said he learned a very important lesson while shooting the rom-com starring JC Santos and Janine Gutierrez.

Bilang starting filmmaker parang madami kang doubts kung tama ba yung mga decisions na ginagawa mo and with this project I learned to really listen to my instincts na huwag magdalawang isip kung pa rin naman sa ikakabuti nung story so I think yun talaga yung pinaka natutunan ko doing this project and working with this wonderful cast especially JC and Janine. I learned to really learn from your instincts,” he said during the Dito at Doon thanksgiving party held last May 13.

With the current pandemic still not allowing for movie theaters to open, direk JP said he remains hopeful that Dito at Doon can have a theatrical run in the future.

Yes iba pa rin talaga yung experience sa sinehan. Also, most of our mga kababayan dito sa Pilipinas they don’t have an access talaga sa online. So parang yung experience ng pag nuod sa sine yun yung pinakamadaling gawin para sa kanila. So kung mapapalabas pa ito sa mga sinehan, mas malaki pa yung chance na mapanuod siya ng mga tao.

Actually nung nag-premiere night kami online, I think yun yung pinaka malungkot I think sa journey nung project kasi kapag premiere night maririnig mo yung tawanan, yung palakpakan. Yun yung nakaka-miss actually sa sinehan kapag nagpapalabas ng pelikula. So hopefully malay natin next year kapag fully vaccinated na lahat puwede ipalabas ulit yung pelikula sa sinehan pag anniversary, ganyan. Hopeful pa rin ako,” he said.

The talented director, who also directed the 2017 film I’m Drunk, I Love You, also revealed that the ending of the love story in Dito at Doon is not exactly final. “Open yung possibility for a part two. Kaya nagdadasal kami na pag maganda yung reception ng pelikula globally. Naghihintay na alng ako ng go signal (to write the sequel),” he revealed.

Dito at Doon is enjoying an extended run on KTX, Cinema 76 @Home, iWantTFC, Ticket2Me, and Upstream. For international audiences, it is exclusive on TBA Play for a limited time only in USA, Canada, and select territories in Europe, Middle East, and North Africa.
