The official trailer of “Belle Douleur” starring Mylene Dizon and Kit Thompson has been released.

The much-awaited film, one of the official entries to this year‘s Cinemalaya film festival, narrates the heated love affair between Elizabeth, a woman in her late forties, and Jon, a man twenty years younger than her, that blurs the boundaries and barriers of life as we know it.

Although the focus is on their love story, “Belle Douleur (A Beautiful Pain) tells the story of a woman’s journey of finding happiness as she breaks free from the confines of society that shackles women,” said Quantum Films on the film. The official trailer was uploaded on their official YouTube channel on Tuesday.

The movie, which marks Mylene and Kit‘s first time to work together, is helmed by Joji V. Alonso and is written by Carl Adrian Chavez and Kristin Barrameda.
