Comedian Bentong has passed away early this morning at the age of 55. Bentong, whose real name is Domingo Vusotros Brotamante Jr., was brought to Fairview General Hospital but reportedly did not survive complications from his diabetes.

The comedian's son-in-law Arvin Vincent Anierdes confirmed the news on his Facebook page along with the
message, "Rest in Peace Papa Bentong hindi ko akalain na heto na ang ating huling pagsasama naten alam ko kasama mo na ang Panginoon ngayon kaya panatag na rin ang loob ko."

Bentong was part of popular ABS-CBN shows like Toda Max, Luv U and Home Along The Riles as well as numerous other appearances.

Bentong was born on January 12, 1964 in Tabaco, Albay.

Meanwhile, the comedian's talent management agency Starmagic, released its official statement about his death.

"It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing of comedian Domingo Brotamante, also known as Bentong, this morning.

"We ask everyone to pray for the eternal repose of his soul and the comfort of the loved ones he left behind."
