It was a solemn Saturday for Kim Chiu when she visited her mother’s grave this weekend.

The One Great Love star was there to celebrate the birthday of her dear departed parent, Louella Yap Chiu, whom she lost to brain aneurysm nearly six years ago.

Recharged🍃. Reconnected to my own self again❤️ . had a great trip to 🇨🇳 a unique country indeed! learned a lot about their culture and the people, unique in their own way that it makes their country beautiful and disciplined!! one thing I was amazed about is they don’t have IG,twitter,facebook,youtube,viber,google and many more coz the govt set it up to have their own, chinese is to chinese only. it took them years to apply these to the entire china. i’ve also learned that “if you really want something you cant get it without putting hard word and accepting failure but with these element if you don’t give up you achieve success.” ❄️. . PS took a lot of photos from this trip so my next few posts will still be in CHINA high!!!!🙈🙈🙈😅🇨🇳 📸 @xianlimm . happy first weekend of the year!!!!🎉

“A million times I’ve needed you, a million times I’ve cried.

If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died,” reads an excerpt of the poem Kim quoted on Instagram.

“In life, I love you dearly, in death I love you still.

In my heart you hold a place no one else can fill.

It broke my heart to lose you. But you didn’t go alone, part of me went with you, the day God took you home,” she adds.

Along were a picture of Kim kneeling in front of her mother’s tomb to cite a prayer, and a close up photo of Louella set atop a colorful array of flowers and three bowls containing different kind of fruits—patterned after the Chinese culture as their way of paying respects to a loved one.
