Today on “Magandang Buhay,” comedienne Candy Pangilinan gamely answered questions about her past struggles. She first confirmed that she went to a psychiatrist when she was married to Gilbert Alvarado.
“Nag pa-checkup ako, nag pa-check ako sa psychiatrist talaga. Kasi sabi ng asawa ko kasalanan ko daw lahat kung bakit kami naghiwalay, sabi niya sira ulo ako, sabi niya ano daw parati lang akong nagdududa wala siyang babae so nag pa-checkup ako baka sira ulo nga ako,” she said.
Candy was also thankful that she had her friends to support her during those hard times. In fact, host Karla Estrada already warned her about Gilbert.
“Siya ang nakahuli! Si Karla ang nakahuli! Siya ang dahilan kaya wala akong asawa,” she said laughing.
“Nung time na ‘yun ikakasal pa lang, nung nahuli ni Karla ikakasal pa lang ako no’n, so dahil matigas ang ulo ko at naniwala ako kay Gelli na past is past so pinatawad ko, nagbalikan kami, nagpakasal ako na ako rin naman ang gumastos,” she shared.
During the wedding, she recalled that Gelli and Karla were there and they had 12 priests to bless her and Gilbert. She even had a papal blessing. Their marriage only lasted less than two years. Candy has a 13-year old son named Quentin with Gilbert.
“After a year nabuntis ako, after a month I gave birth umalis siya.”
Candy also had struggles regarding her son’s autism, which specialists confirmed after his first birthday. However, Candy happily shared Quentin has already overcome his condition.
“Ang laki na ng development ni Quentin because he started with not talking, not walking, not doing anything at all… Two years ago nawala na ‘yung autism niya na rule out ang autism. Nagkaroon na siya ng social skills,” she said.
Candy is working on a book together with Dr. Dimalanta, Quentin’s doctor and it will be released hopefully this year.
