Ah, Byeon Woo-seok. Our Ryu Sun-jae and our Won Hae-hyo—if you were around for his second lead stint in Record of Youth, in which my attention was unexpectedly divided between Woo-seok and lead actor Park Bo-gum. His Summer Letter fan meeting, slated for June 22 in Manila as organized by PULP Live World, got sold out in what felt like seconds, leaving plenty of his fans surprised and devastated.

Whether you knew him before or because of Lovely Runner, it’s clear that the Philippines has caught Sun-jae fever.

To say that the man is a vision is an understatement. He is tall and broad, standing at about 6’1” with defined pecs, washboard abs, strong shoulders, and a trim waist. His sweet face and boyish charm only complement his impressive physique, which he works hard to maintain. Woo-seok was active even at a young age, enjoying sports like soccer and basketball while in school.

He got his start as a model in 2010 before making his way into the acting circuit in 2016, debuting with cameos in Dear My Friend, Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo, and Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Later down the line, Woo-seok was selected as an international endorser for Bench Body and Bench Active because of his athletic lifestyle. He has worked for Calvin Klein, too, joining the ranks of fellow Korean hotties Jungkook (BTS) and Mingyu (Seventeen). If you haven’t seen his photoshoot with the brand yet, you’re missing out. On—ahem—a lot.

As an actor, the character he plays affects his workout routines, too. To play Sun-jae, he took extensive swimming lessons, practicing almost everyday for three months to perfectly embody the role. Such commitment, right? It’s a great and fun way to keep fit as it is a low-impact activity with many physical and psychological health benefits that anyone can engage in for the long term. Swimming helps you maintain a healthy heart and lungs while toning your muscles and building strength.

When his schedule isn’t all that packed, he makes it a point to work out five out of seven days a week, cycling between chest, leg, and back exercises. But because he’s been booked and busy, he sticks to lifting weights to maintain his muscles when he’s pressed for time. Based on his social media posts, Woo-seok also enjoys outdoor activities such as biking and trekking.

To the lucky ones that get to see him this weekend, we are happy for you, but we are also jealous. We may not be able to carry him and run, but we can applaud his hard work and enjoy his visuals by swiping through the gallery below:
