MANILA, Philippines – Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons made a winning return to beach volleyball, listing two victories in Day 1 of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Futures Nuvali on Friday at the Nuvali Sand Courts in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The "SiPons" tandem swept USA's Melissa Powell and Lindsay Calvin, 21-15, 21-14, to conclude the day while scoring a 21-17, 18-21, 15-12 comeback triumph against fellow Filipinos Khylem Progella and Sofia Pagara earlier.

With this, the fancied volleyball duo will proceed to the quarterfinals after collecting a 2-0 win-loss record.

Meanwhile, the men's teams had an unlucky day, all absorbing defeats in their division.
