MANILA, Philippines – Coach Jorge de Brito on Wednesday said Fil-American Brooke Van Sickle and Fil-Canadian Savi Davison are "good" reinforcements to Alas Pilipinas Women — in case they eventually make it to the roster.

De Brito has been continuing his scouting in the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference to further improve the national team pool to brace for what seems to be a busy year for volleyball.

Alas Women, through the leadership of skipper Jia de Guzman, are expected to participated in several sporting events such as the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Thailand later this year.

Van Sickle and Davison need to shift federations to the Philippines in order to play for Alas. The Petro Gazz star is still with USA Volleyball, while the PLDT scoring machine is with Volleyball Canada.

But as the federation switch is still underway, De Brito is laser-focused working things "based on reality."

"[It's] a lot of 'if'. I could express that would be good because they are good players, key players for their teams, but I use to work based on [reality]," De Brito told ABS-CBN News.

Formal invitations to Davison and Van Sickle were reportedly sent to court them, hoping they could eventually join the national team.

Just yesterday, Van Sickle and Davison led their respective teams to triumph over their PVL rivals.

Van Sickle fired 27 points to help Petro Gazz torch Zus Coffee, while Davison collected 26 points to lead PLDT past Farm Fresh.
