MANILA, Philippines – Chris Tiu, who saw action in the PBA and with the men's national basketball team, relished the chance to play the sport again.

Tiu, who was forced to stop playing hoops because of an injury, shared how overwhelmed he was as he donned another basketball jersey, this time with Xavier School for a Fil-Chinese tournament for 40 and up.

"Pleasantly surprised with the outcome of my first game back since I last played ball in 2019. Played a couple of fun games several years ago until I hurt myself and decided to completely stop bball," said Tiu in an Instagram post.

"Finally held a basketball again about a month ago when I was invited to play pickup ball with some Pinoys overseas," he added.

"And now somehow ended up playing in an official game again for my Alma mater in a Fil-Chi tournament for 40 and up (40 and Up!!)"

The former Ateneo de Manila University standout posted 31 points, four rebounds, and four assists in his first game back.

Tiu last played for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, his team for six years.

Rain or Shine drafted him seventh overall in 2012.
