MANILA, Philippines – Brothers Jordi and Jaime Gomez de Liano have committed to San Sebastian-Recoletos as the school intends to put up a strong fight in the upcoming NCAA Season 101.

The move is aligned with the Golden Stags' planned massive buildup to contend against the likes of reigning champion Mapua, San Beda, Letran, University of Perpetual and Lyceum.

The team management, headed by Jax and EdsChua and Bernard Yang, and coach Rob Labagala expressed gratitude to the Gomez de Liano family for entrusting the two promising players under their three-year program.

The GDL brothers – both standing at 6-foot-5 – are expected to provide the Golden Stags a massive boost.

“The team is slowly shaping up,” said Yang.

San Sebastian had earlier announced the recruitment of a talented guard Jevy Ponce Hinoguin.

Yang said the team is hopeful to lure more blue chip players to make the Golden Stags formidable, one that can go deep in the coming season.

“May isa pa or dalawa pa kaming nililigawan, future stars ang mga ito,” said Yang, a former manager of Hapee Toothpaste in the defunct PBL.

This marks the second time the Gomez de Liano siblings would be playing for one team, with older brothers Juan and Javi suited up for the UP Maroons in the UAAP several years ago.

Having played for UST and Ateneo, Jordi, 22, will have to wait for another year before he can don the red and gold SSC-R jerseys, while Jaime, 18, is already eligible to play after completing his high school years recently at University of the Philippines Integrated School.
