MANILA — Filipino pole vaulter EJ Obiena is featured on Vogue Philippines magazine on Thursday which introduced him as the "internet's newest boyfriend."

This comes after more netizens expressed their admiration to Obiena who committed to "come back stronger" after placing fourth in the men's pole vault event atthe 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

"Among his upcoming events is the Philippine International Vault Challenge, where he intends to bring the world’s best pole vaulters to the country," the magazine's caption reads.

His coaches believe his determination and his "peak season" will enable him to compete at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

In terms of global standing, Obiena slipped to No. 3 in the rankings released by World Athletics on Tuesday.
