MANILA -- Carlo "The Bull" Bumina-ang had another impressive performance at a ONE Friday Fights event last week, as he continues his road towards getting a contract to ONE Championships' main roster.

The Team Lakay upstart scored a fourth win in as many matches after stopping Xie Zhipeng in the very first round of their bantamweight MMA bout at ONE Friday Fights 50 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Though Bumina-ang lost plenty of training partners last year -- including former ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Kevin Belingon to contenders Stephen Loman and Jeremy Pacatiw -- he has kept his eyes on the prize.

"It's very challenging. But it's all about working hard, working hard until we get [where we want to be]," said Bumina-ang.

Against Xie, he took another step towards his goal and proved that he is diversifying his skill set. He knocked down the Chinese fighter multiple times with punches before finishing him via a slick arm-triangle submission choke.

"I'm overwhelmed. I just stayed focused on my striking. Once I caught him, I saw him hobbled, followed through, and got him in the arm triangle," he said.

"I just kept on pounding him, but he was blocking it. The rope was also playing a factor, so I focused on an arm-triangle and I got it."
