PVL MediaMANILA -- EcoOil La Salle powered to its third straight win in the 2024 Spikers' Turf Invitational Conference, this time taking down D'Navigators in straight sets at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Green Oilers surged to a 25-21, 25-20, 25-20 win on Friday that kept them unbeaten in the season-ending conference. They earlier overwhelmed the Martelli Meats Master Butchers and the Chichi DHTSI Titans

"Happy sa panalo although sabihin natin na may lapses pero nandoon pa rin ‘yung confidence and trust ko sa kanila," said EcoOil La Salle head coach Jose Roque.

From a tight 11-10 count in the third set, the Green Oilers pulled ahead thanks to the trifecta of Noel Kampton, MJ Fortuna and Nathaniel Del Pilar who sparked a decisive 9-2 scoring run. 

Kampton led the way once again for La Salle with 14 points on 12 kills, while Fortuna had nine points and Vince Maglinao finished with eight markers. The Green Oilers had a massive 40-25 advantage in kills against the D'Navigators.

"It was a close fight but we prepared for them," said Kampton of the win. 

D'Navigators have now dropped four straight matches after opening the season with a five-set win against Chichi DHTSI.

Vince Himzon paced the D'Navigators with 11 points while Rash Nursiddik and Steven Sta. Maria added six points apiece. 

Both teams will be back on Sunday with La Salle-EcoOil colliding with PGJC Navy at 4 p.m. and the D'Navigators Iloilo clashing with Cignal at 6 p.m.
