(UPDATE) Jonas "Zorro" Sultan pulled off an upset over former 2-division champion Johnriel Casimero by winning via unanimous decision at Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu Saturday night.

The fight, a world junior-bantamweight title eliminator, took place in the main card of "Pinoy Pride 42."

Sultan stymied the former world junior flyweight and flyweight champion with swarming punches early in the bout.

Although Casimero was able to rattle the relatively younger fighter with a stinging right straight in the 7th round, this wasn’t enough to finish off Sultan.

With the victory, Sultan, who now sports a 14-3 record, became the mandatory challenger to IBF junior bantamweight champion Jerwin Ancajas.

Casimero, on the other hand, absorbed his 4th defeat in 28 fights.

Meanwhile, Jason “El Niño” Pagara settled for a split draw after failing to dispatch durable James Onyango of Kenya in a spirited 10-round junior welterweight bout.

Pagara was able to deck the Kenyan twice with well-time uppercuts in the first half of the bout.

Onyango, however, recovered and rallied in the remaining rounds using vicious head shots that opened a cut near Pagara’s left eye.

In the undercard, "King" Arthur Villanueva bounced back from his unanimous decision loss to South African Zolani Tete by dominating fellow Filipino Richie Mepranum.

Villanueva was a bigger bantamweight than Mepranum and he used his size to the hilt to bully the smaller fighter.

After Round 4, a beaten Mepranum refused to continue, yielding a TKO loss to Villanueva.
